Saturday's Kids- Self Titled 10' (Bombed Out)- PR CAMPAIGN

We were approached by Saturday's Kids and Bombed Out records to undertake a PR campaign for their recent 10" release.  When approached the record had already been released, however, having only received a couple of online reviews we were tasked with taking charge of a small scale media campaign for the release and create a more consistent and cohesive campaign.  The first thing we did was to set a new re-release date so we could manage the time-scales of the campaign effectively.  In addition to this we discussed closely with the band their key targets and the best ways we could market the band to achieve their objectives.  Music is a fickle world and so often people want to hear a "story" or see an "angle"- with SK this was a simple task given their energy, sonic inventiveness, willingness to work hard and youth.  Once we had established a plan we set about creating the right press release and began our media campaign.

Initially we secured favourable coverage in numerous blogs, including a "Record of the Month" accolade in Manchester Music webzine.  Coupled with this we generated interest in the band through radio, resulting in airplay from John Kennedy at XFM and Paul at Artrocker Radio.  Having created this extra "buzz" we returned to the print press we approached resulting in release date coverage from both Artrocker and Rocksound Magazine.  Perhaps the most notable success of the campaign was to secure a half page feature in Rocksound in addition to the band's track "Empty Space" being included within Rocksound's cover-mount CD.   Given the starting point the campaign was viewed as a great success and we look forward to working with the band in the future.
